![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But I inspected the Gipsy and the teeth look good as new. Seeing as the gipsy is composite plastic, I thought that surely it must be worn teeth. When it gets to the chain, it grabs the chain just fine, but the rope slips in the gipsey and I have to send up a buddy to pull it in by hand until we reach chain. I also replaced the Gipsy on the windlass which is the rotating piece that actually grabs the rope/chain and drops it into my anchor locker.įor about 4 months, the new rode has been working quite well - but the last two fishing trips the Windlass is not able to pull in the rope when there is even a little tension on the line. Original plastic gypsy fits both Sprint and Horizon 400/500 models. There are two available both used and condition is as seen in the photographs. 300 feet of 1/2" three-strand polyester rope. Fits 1/4 chain and 1/2 three-strand rope. Awhile back I rigged up a new anchor rode which consists of 30 feet of 1/4" high test chain and aprox. I have a Horizon 500 (Lewmar) horizontal windlass on my 28 Bertram. ![]()
